Job summary

LightPath Technologies Inc. seeks an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day financial operations in a manufacturing environment. You will supervise Staff Accountants, own the monthly close, and partner with Operations, Engineering, and Finance on inventory, costs, and internal controls.

This hands-on role blends technical accounting with process improvement and staff development, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and timely financial insights for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least five years of progressively responsible accounting experience in manufacturing.
• At least two years in supervision or team leadership.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Onsite work required; availability for month-end, audits, and inventories.
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Ability to analyze complex data and communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close processes across the organization, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Review work by Staff Accountants for accuracy and compliance with policy and GAAP.
• Manage general ledger, chart of accounts, and period-appropriate postings.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, income statements, and related analyses.
• Support cost accounting including inventory, overhead, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with departments on budgets, forecasts, and cash flow planning.
• Support SOX/compliance and internal control improvements as needed.
• Lead ERP implementations and process improvements.
