Job summary

LightPath Technologies in Orlando, FL is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations in a manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role oversees Staff Accountants, owns the monthly close, and collaborates with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Finance on cost accounting and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Onsite work required; support during audits and year-end activities.
• Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing cost accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Review work prepared by Staff Accountants for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Manage general ledger, chart of accounts, and periodization of transactions.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, income statements, and reporting schedules.
• Support consolidation, intercompany accounting, and intercompany eliminations as needed.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and cash-related activities.
• Drive process improvements and ERP/system upgrades; mentor staff accountants.
