Job summary

LHH is assisting a family-owned manufacturing and distribution client in Florida. The Assistant Controller will lead accounting operations, drive month-end close, and implement process improvements within a multi-location environment.

The role requires strong technical accounting experience, exposure to manufacturing/inventory cost accounting, and the ability to lead and develop a team while partnering with operations and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 8+ years progressive accounting experience.
• 2+ years supervisory or management experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting.
• Oversee general ledger accounting activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures with leadership.
• Develop accounting staff and provide day-to-day supervision.
• Oversee fixed assets, inventory accounting, AP/AR and related functions.
• Collaborate with operations to analyze variances and drive process improvements.
• Assist with ERP optimization and integration projects.
