Job summary

Schaefer's Electrical Enclosures in Missouri seeks an Accounting Clerk to support daily financial operations at the Scott City facility. The role covers accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and general ledger activities, reporting to the Accounting Manager.

You will collaborate with Purchasing, Shipping, Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Inventory to ensure accurate records and compliance with company policies. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum two years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP or manufacturing accounting software preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong mathematical aptitude and data entry accuracy.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Generate customer invoices for product shipped and charges.
• Post customer payments and process credits; resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Monitor AR aging and perform collection calls.
• Evaluate credit requests and review credit limits for existing customers.
• Process vendor invoices with three-way match of PO, receiving, and invoicing.
• Maintain vendor master data and ensure compliant payment processing.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist month-end closing.
• Respond to inquiries regarding invoices and payment history.
• Support audits and maintain organized records.
