Job summary

Vishay Dale Electronics – Columbus, NE is seeking a Manual Winder for the 2nd Shift (Monday - Thursday 3:30pm - 2:00am). The role involves welding, winding and testing turns of wire onto resistor sub-assemblies to meet specified resistance values. Overtime is available as needed.

You will load and program machines, enter winding parameters, and ensure quality and proper setup. A high school diploma and ability to read, write, and do arithmetic are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Judgment in analyzing facts and circumstances within standard practices.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods while performing duties.
• Ability to read, write and perform arithmetic calculations.
• Three months to one year training in operating complex/ automated machinery and processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate, weld, wind and test specified turns of wire onto a resistor sub-assembly to meet the specified resistance value.
• Receive components and production orders; set up machines and computer systems with winding parameters; enter wire width, value, tolerance and thickness.
• Load trays/reels of sub-assemblies and ensure correct winding operation.
• Follow quality and safety guidelines and maintain production standards.

Responsible for producing Vishay products that meet and exceed quality and customer expectations. **Job Location:**Vishay Dale Electronics, Columbus, NE is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of resistors and e-beam technology. We are one of the largest employers in the Columbus Area. **What you will be doing:*** Operation includes welding, winding and test specified turns of wire onto a resistor sub-assembly to produce a specified resistance value.* Receives capped ceramic sub-assemblies, wire, and production orders from Material Handler.* Turns on machines and computers.* Places correct wire on spindle and thread through machine.* Enters correct winding parameters and order information into the computer (includes wire width, value, tolerance, and thickness) and ohms per foot of the wire.* Loads trays/reels of capped ceramic sub-assemblies into each. **What you will bring along:*** High School Diploma or equivalent* Requires the use of judgment in the analysis of facts and circumstances surrounding individual processes or operations and in the determination of actions to be taken within the limits of standard or accepted practices.* Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in performance of duties.* Ability to read, write and perform arithmetic calculations.
