Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Needham, MA seeking a Manual QA Tester to support software quality assurance and ensure that products meet requirements. The role involves executing manual test cases, documenting results and defects, and contributing to the design of test fixtures and protocols to measure customer satisfaction and product reliability.

1. Assist in testing various products.
2. Develop new testing protocols and test cases based on product requirements and features.
3. Document results and classify issues, including capturing pictures.
4. Communicate progress, blockers, and issues to the manual testing team.
5. Collaborate across teams to understand all aspects of the product system.
6. Provide feedback to improve testing processes.
7. Assist other teams with troubleshooting test units or field returns.
8. Work as part of the Software Quality team on specific projects.
9. Participate in design reviews of product and software requirements.
10. Engage in project sprints and daily standups to report progress and identify issues.
11. Participate in activities like Requirements Tracing, Root Cause Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Defect Management.
12. Follow established system testing practices and procedures.
13. Execute tests and report defects.
14. Collaborate with the QA team on testing and defect resolution.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering (EE, ME, CS).
• 0-2 years of experience in QA.
• Ability to work collaboratively.
• Multitasking and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of test automation tools.
• Knowledge of manual testing practices.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible approach and willingness to challenge conventional thinking.
• Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Digital Multimeters, Tachometers, and lab equipment.

Preferred

• Experience with robotics, microcontrollers, sensors like IR and Lidar.
• Experience with firmware-based consumer products.
• Knowledge of SDLC and STLC.
• Experience with defect tracking tools like Jira.
• Programming or scripting experience (C++, Python, TTL).
• Familiarity with CSQE Body of Knowledge.
