Job description

Join us as a Manual Machinist Technician in our Kansas City, KS facility.

In this role, you will be responsible for manual lathe machining, operating machines and tools for the Pump Service Group, receiving parts and materials, preparing pumps and castings, assembling equipment, and performing routine layouts for machining parts.

What’s in it for you?

The anticipated hourly pay range for this role is: $28.00 - $30.00. This position includes a $1 pay increase after 6 months and another $1 increase after 1 year.

More details about the opportunity:

• Receives parts/materials to be machined, transported, painted, and obtains necessary tools and gauges.
• Receives work assignments from process documents, blueprints, and written or verbal instructions.
• Sets up and operates machines using appropriate tools, selecting proper speeds and feeds.
• Positions parts in machines, securing and aligning using hoists or cranes.
• Performs machining operations such as facing, boring, turning, reaming, threading, drilling, tapping, milling, and chamfering.
• Prepares pumps, parts, castings, patterns for shipments, labels, weighs, loads, and blocks freight as instructed.
• Performs receiving operations, checks for damage, quantity, conformance to purchase orders, and prepares receiving reports.
• Assembles, disassembles, inspects, and tests pumping equipment as necessary.
• Performs abrasive blasting, deburring, impeller filing, and operates coating line equipment.
• Lubricates machines, maintains tools and work environment cleanliness.
• Sets up and operates welding machines for fabrication, repairs, tack welding, brazing, and soldering.

Position hours / shift:

1st shift – 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

Physical Requirements:

Standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting up to 50 pounds. Steel-toed shoes are required. Must read bills of material and blueprints, follow instructions, operate mobile equipment, and have a valid driver’s license with willingness to travel 25% of the time.
