Shift: 1st Shift, Flexible Start Time (5:00 AM – 8:00 AM), 8-hour shifts, Monday - Friday

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Manual Machinist & Press Tooling Grinder responsible for machining, sharpening, and preparing tooling for stamping presses using manual lathes and grinders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in a metal production environment
• Minimum five years' experience as a tool grinder
• Ability to use measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)
• Precision machining skills (tolerance within 0.0005")
• Strong math, geometry, and mechanical aptitude
• Attention to detail and ability to document specifications accurately

Responsibilities

• Machine stamping tooling using manual mill and lathe
• Review press tooling for setup and operational sequences
• Determine cutting parameters using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Inspect tooling for defects and wear
• Set up and operate grinding machines to grind dies, punches, and parts
• Perform face grinding and ID/OD grinding as needed
• Fit tooling in gauges to verify dimensions
• Select and mount grinding wheels according to specifications
