Job description

Founded in 1985, ATS is a company with a presence in the United States, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. We specialize in Industrial Maintenance, helping factories operate more efficiently.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Performs repairs and adjustments to complex die sets.
2. Inspects, measures, troubleshoots, and repairs common failures associated with Tool and Die.
3. Develops and writes concise technical documents, including repair findings and reports.
4. Heat-treats tools or parts.
5. Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for machining.
6. Smoothes flat and contoured surfaces using scrapers, abrasive stones, and power grinders, and fits and assembles parts into assemblies and mechanisms using hand tools.
7. Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances with measuring instruments such as dial indicators, gauge blocks, thickness gauges, and micrometers.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Behaviors Required:

• Post-secondary technical training or certification preferred.
• At least five years of related experience with tool and die tasks.
• At least two years of experience with measurement processes and equipment used for repairs and adjustments of complex die sets.
• Experience with electronic drawing software like AutoCad, Pro-E, or SolidWorks, with the ability to modify existing drawings (preferred).
• Knowledge of Heat Treat processes as applied to Tool and Die components.
• Knowledge of failure analysis, reliability studies, and performance enhancements.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; may need to work at heights using ladders or lifts; talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to sit and lift/move over 50 pounds.
• Requires close and color vision.
• Occasional exposure to outside weather, electrical shock risks, hazardous materials, and slippery floors.
• Work environment is typically loud, in a factory setting.
