Job summary

ASC Engineered Solutions, LLC in North Kingstown, RI, is seeking a Manual Machinist for 2nd and 3rd shifts to set up and operate manual machining and fabrication equipment, interpreting blueprints and work instructions to produce quality parts from ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

You will perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools, make adjustments to meet specifications, and help maintain a safe, organized work area while cross-training on multiple

Qualifications

• Approximately 1–2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines and lathes.
• Working knowledge of basic shop math and machining principles.
• Ability to read operation travelers, blueprints and instructions.
• Proficiency with measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, verniers).
• Certified to operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, hoists).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes, drills, presses and other fabrication tools.
• Perform threading, cutting, sawing, drilling, grinding and more on ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
• Interpret blueprints and travelers to determine tools and methods.
• Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections with precision gauges.
• Set up and adjust equipment to meet specs and quality standards.
• Safely transport materials using cranes, dollies, and carts.
• Keep tooling organized and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Cross-train on multiple machines and processes; report hazards.
