Job summary

Rotating Machinery Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified Manual Machinist for 2nd shift (3pm–11pm) to perform turning, milling, drilling, threading and other operations on rotating equipment components and assemblies. Requires 5–10 years of experience, ability to read drawings, and attention to precision.

The role includes setup, measurement, inspection, preventive maintenance, and collaboration with engineers. Individual must pass background/drug screens and meet physical requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5–10 years of manual machining experience.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk for long periods.
• Able to read drawings and use calibrated measuring tools.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses and grinders to produce/repair parts.
• Read blueprints and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
• Set up machines with proper tooling, fixtures, and materials.
• Measure finished parts with precision instruments to verify tolerances.
• Perform turning, boring, threading, drilling, and milling operations.
• Maintain tight tolerances and inspect parts for defects.
• Keep machines and workspace clean and safe.
• Document work performed and any deviations from specs.
• Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to resolve issues.
