Overview: To perform complex setups and machine a variety of components on various machine tools. Work safely and efficiently to meet customer needs, with the ability to work within extremely close tolerances. Ability to layout and plan machining operations from prints, sketches, or verbal instructions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Promote safety and quality at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Conduct oneself professionally with internal and external customers.
• Operate and understand various machine tools: horizontal and vertical lathes, mills, grinders, deburring tools, fixtures, drill presses, forklifts, cranes, rigging, jib hoists, and computers.
• Use measuring devices accurately: micrometers, indicators, calipers, gauges.
• Understand tooling, drawings, work scopes, procedures, and documentation.
• Perform complex setups and machine operations: turning, boring, milling, drilling, reaming, tapping, grinding, etc.
• Work to extremely close tolerances.
• Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Measure and record dimensional inspections; pass annual inspection tests.
• Complete part layouts.
• Train others in equipment operation, reading prints, tooling, and repair processes.
• Document work actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
• Own work performance and stay updated with skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5-8 years’ experience with rotating turbo machinery.
• Advanced rigging and machining capabilities on manual lathes.
• Experience with turbines, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
