Job Purpose

We are seeking motivated candidates for this position which involves set up and operating of manual lathes and Bridgeport’s, Hurco, and Okuma to machine surfaces of precision sheet metal aircraft engine components and parts. Would be ideal for someone with tool making experience.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
  • Restore components by operating manual lathes, Bridgeport’s, Hurco and Okuma.
  • Measure and examine completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Use OEM prints and design sketches to ensure proper outcome of repair.
  • Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
  • Fabricate or modify fixtures and maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal working, layout, lapping and cleaning procedures.
  • Become fully trained and fluent on all parts with all machines.
  • Follow AWT’s FAA Quality System.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Requires sitting or standing for extended periods. Requires frequent walking, bending, and reaching to shoulder level. Requires occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 50 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Equipment Operated:

Ability to operate office machines and troubleshoot problems with equipment.

Work Location:

Aviation Welding Technologies, LLC 73 Commerce Drive, Uxbridge, MA

Protective Equipment Required:

PPE will be provided

Potential Hazards:

Exposure to materials identified on Material Safety Data Sheets.

Job Specifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience.

  • Proficient with measuring devices.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Track record of achieving operational goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read/write and interpret English.
  • Availability for first shift (7:00am-4:30pm).
  • Must pass FAA/DOT drug, alcohol tests, and background screening.
Education/Training:

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience, machine shop experience preferred.

Certificates/Licenses:

None required.

Other:

Additional duties may be assigned to support other personnel or projects.
