Job Summary

As a Machinist at PRL, you will operate manual horizontal or vertical milling/boring machines and lathes. Your primary duty is machining a variety of parts to customer specifications from castings, bar stock, and other materials, following blueprints, standards, and specifications to ensure high quality and precision.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Associate's degree or higher education.

Experience

• Related machining experience is highly desirable.
• Combination of education and experience will be considered.

Skills

• Proficiency with manual machine tools, reading blueprints, and measuring tools.
• Knowledge of shop math, trigonometry, and geometric dimensioning/tolerancing.
• Ability to follow instructions, read/write in English, and work independently.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC machines, ensuring quality and safety.
• Use CNC programming knowledge, including minor edits.
• Machine parts within tight tolerances (e.g., .0002").
• Design jigs and fixtures, interpret blueprints, and maintain equipment.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and trucks as needed.
• Verify and record information accurately, maintain a clean work area, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Participate in safety training annually.
