Opti Staffing is hiring a manual machinist in Sherwood, Oregon. You will work with mills and lathes, fabricating parts and inspecting them for defects after machining. Prior experience with RPMs, feeds and speeds, and precision measurement is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as machinist with Mills or Lathes (2+ years preferred).
• Strong understanding of RPMs and feeds & speeds.
• Experience with carbide insert selections and coolant management.
• Experience using/reading/manual or semi-automated tools and machines.
• Ability read blueprints and interpret setup sheets.
• Good math skills and physical stamina for lifting heavy items.

Responsabilités

• Operate mills and lathes using manual processes to fabricate parts.
• Inspect parts for defects after machining and measure with calipers.
• Maintain coolant and fluids and manage tool wear as needed.

OPTI STAFFING IS HIRING! Location: Sherwood, Oregon | Compensation: $24-30/hr. DOE | Hours: Monday – Friday 6am-2:30pm

Who We Are: A Local manufacturing company that engineers, fabricates, and constructs equipment for the farming and logging industry for the last 45 years is looking to hire! This company is proud to buy and make all of its products in the United States. They are a complete process taking in material and performing everything from CNC machining, welding, and assembly.

What You'll Do:

• As a manual machinist you will be working with primarily mills and lathes operating manual process machines, using tools to fabricate, and inspecting parts for defects post machining.

What You Need to Have:

• Proven experience as machinist with Mills or Lathes experience (2+ years preferred)
• Strong understanding or RPM's
• Understanding feeds & speeds
• Experience with carbide insert selections
• Ability maintain coolant and fluids for machines
• Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, mills, grinders etc.)
• Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
• Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material, mainly mild steel
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals (We are old-school, so anyone who can interpret a set-up sheet will be gold)
• Good at math with analytical abilities
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items (we have overhead cranes for anything over 50+ lbs.)
