Job summary

Opti Staffing seeks a CNC Machinist in Forest Grove, OR to machine aluminum, copper, stainless steel, and brass. You will program in G-code, set up and operate two machines (old Mazak and a new Flex table), and ensure quality and safety while maintaining records.

The role requires reading drawings, leading a setup/operator team across multiple projects, and training less experienced employees. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of creating CNC G code using CAD/CAM software.
• Experience with metal machining (aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass).
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, drill presses, and surface grinders.
• Program in G-code for two machines (Mazak and Flex 22-ft table).
• Ensure quality and safety standards and maintain records.
• Lead and train less experienced team members.

Location: Forest Grove, Oregon Compensation: $20 to $32/hr. DOE Hours: Monday - Friday, 6am-2:30pm

Our clients manufacturing facility is located on 5 acres in Forest Grove, Oregon, flanked by the coast range on the west and the Cascade Mountains on the east. They began as a supplier of group operator air break disconnects, their product line has evolved to include motor operators, ground switches, surge suppression resistors, unitized phase-over-phase designs, to mention a few.

What You'll Do:

The CNC Machinist plays a key role in the production process, responsible for machining parts made out of aluminum, copper, stainless steel, and brass by programming in G-code, setting up, and operating two different machines: an old Mazak and a brand-new Flex 22-ft table. This role also involves ensuring quality and safety standards, maintaining accurate records, and overseeing equipment and supply upkeep.

The musts:

• Capable of creating CNC G code utilizing CAD/CAM software
• Solidworks or AutoCAD experience preferred
• Read and understand drawings
• Machine set-up and operation of complex and quick turn prototype and production parts
• Experienced with metal (carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum) machining
• Experience operating manual mills, lathes, drill press and surface grinders
• Leading machine setup/operator team members through multiple projects
