TITLE: Manual Machinist
TYPE: Direct Hire
LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN (Fishers area)
SHIFT:1st (Summer Hours Mon-Thur 6am to 3:30pm, Fri 6am to 10am)

We are looking for a Manual Machinist. This role supports the broader manufacturing operations by performing required inspections, adhering to safety protocols, and contributing to general shop duties. A strong understanding of manual machining practices and mechanical aptitude are essential, along with the ability to maintain organized and clean workspaces in compliance with safety regulations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interpret blueprints and verbal instructions to machine parts to specification
• Perform inspections to verify part compliance with drawings and tolerances
• Set up and operate manual milling machines, lathes, and saws
• Prioritize production assignments and meet scheduled deadlines
• Execute general shop duties as needed
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards, including use of required PPE

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: completion of a 2-year technical training program
• 3–5 years of machining experience in a production environment
• Proficient in manual milling machine, lathe, and saw operation
• Able to select appropriate tooling and gaging for tolerance requirements
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Competent in general math and trigonometry
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
