Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years hands-on experience operating manual lathes.
• Capable of reading blueprints and making precise adjustments.
• Experience with grinders and other manual shop equipment preferred.
• Basic computer skills for time tracking or data entry only, not programming.
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual machine tools including engine lathes.
• Set up machines and perform all adjustments manually including speeds, feeds, and tooling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
• Select tooling, materials, and machining methods without automated programming.
• Measure and inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Monitor machine performance and make real time manual adjustments to ensure quality.
• Maintain and calibrate manual equipment.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace.
• Support team members and assist with shop tasks as needed
