Job summary

D.O.M. magazine is seeking a Managing Lead Mechanic in Kentucky to lead shifts, review maintenance, and ensure aircraft readiness for emergencies.

You will mentor technicians and coordinate with management to meet schedules while maintaining FAA-compliant logs and safety practices. The role requires an FAA certificate with Airframe and Powerplant, 5+ years' experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Certified Mechanic.
  • Knowledge of maintenance manuals and FAA regulations.
  • Basic managerial and communication skills.
  • Ability to pass pre-placement physical, fitness, drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and assign work shifts for optimal production.
  • Review maintenance requirements and allocate resources.
  • Evaluate completed work for adherence to procedures.
  • Communicate with management on scheduling and needs.
  • Mentor and train mechanics; track progress.
  • Oversee maintenance and security of aircraft and assets.
  • Prepare and certify reports and logs per FAA regulations.
  • Coordinate with management to ensure timely job completion.
  • Perform mechanical duties as time permits.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and risk controls.

  • Direct and assign work shifts for optimal production schedules.
  • Review maintenance requirements, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Evaluate completed work for adherence to methods, procedures, and practices.
  • Communicate with management regarding scheduling, aircraft needs, and manpower.
  • Make hiring recommendations and participate in recruitment.
  • Address performance issues and handle discipline review processes.
  • Mentor and train mechanics, tracking developmental progress.
  • Oversee maintenance and security of aircraft and company assets at field bases.
  • Prepare and certify reports and logs in compliance with FAA regulations.
  • Coordinate with management to ensure timely job completion.
  • Perform mechanical duties as time permits.
  • Ensure adherence to Job Safety Analysis and Safety Management System protocols.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required.
  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Certified Mechanic.
  • Knowledge of maintenance manuals, specifications, and Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Basic managerial and communication skills.
  • Competence in using computer systems.
  • Clear verbal communication skills (in-person and via phone).
  • Ability to pass pre-placement physical exam, fitness test, drug screening, and background check.
  • Competitive hourly wage: $30.57–$37.62 (annual earnings $73,123–$89,987).
  • Comprehensive benefits package including shift bonuses, safety bonuses, and annual employee bonus.
  • Relocation or residence near base required, with travel between bases as needed.
  • Generous sign-on bonus up to $15,000.
