Dartmouth College seeks a Managing Director, Special Gifts to secure current-use and capital commitments up to $250,000 from a diverse donor base in the Western region. The role manages prospect portfolios and leads cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree with 6+ years in a university development setting, exceptional communication, and travel up to 40%. Remote eligibility is noted with preference for SF Bay area, Denver, or LA locations.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent and 6+ years of complex university development experience.
• Experience soliciting and closing four-, five-, and six-figure gifts.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with senior officers and donors.
• Ability to travel 30–40% and work evenings as needed.
• Knowledge of gift planning vehicles and techniques.
• Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Responsabilidades

• Develop qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for donors capable of four-, five-, and six-figure gifts.
• Pursue aggressive solicitations and coordinate regional donor engagement.
• Travel to the Western region to visit prospects and coordinate campus visits.
• Prepare collateral and post-visit communications for donors and volunteers.
• Organize training and support for volunteers involved in special gifts solicitations.
