Purpose

The Managing Director, Identity Access Management (The MD) is responsible for supporting the achievement of the Bank’s information security objectives of integrity, confidentiality/privacy, availability, and continuity, and the delivery of information security for the Scotiabank Group. With global oversight for the Bank's IAM services and program, this MD will be responsible for the enterprise-wide IAM program and ensuring the Bank meets its regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

1. Design, implement, and operate Identity and Access Management (IAM) services across the global organization to ensure proper access to resources, data, and devices.
2. Establish controls including access control, privilege management, logging, access governance, reporting, and independent reviews to ensure authorized data access and modifications, in line with standards and regulations.
3. Develop and operate customer protection technologies to secure online customer experiences across all global channels.
4. Manage Machine Identity Management (MIM) processes to oversee digital credentials of devices accessing Scotia data.
5. Oversee Process Identity Management (PIM) processes for application credentials on-premise and in the cloud.
6. Ensure IAM strategies align with organizational standards, monitor current processes, document procedures, analyze access needs, and implement new systems as needed.
7. Stay updated on best-in-class technologies, explore opportunities to optimize technology costs, and evaluate existing tools against industry standards.
8. Contribute to the overall IS&C strategy by providing insights and support for major projects and initiatives.
9. Maintain effective communication and positive relationships within the cyber/financial industry.
10. Lead daily activities consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite, promoting these principles within the team.
11. Create a high-performance environment, attract and develop talent, foster inclusion, and ensure operational excellence and compliance.

Education / Experience

• Experience leading global IAM programs for large organizations across multiple geographies.
• Deep knowledge of security solutions, architectures, operational models, and standards such as NIST and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Proven leadership in managing large, enterprise-wide IAM teams.
• Experience in complex sectors like banking, telecom, healthcare, or retail is preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
