Managing Director, Global Identity Access Management

Purpose

The Managing Director, Identity Access Management (The MD) is responsible for supporting the achievement of the Bank’s information security objectives of integrity, confidentiality/privacy, availability, and continuity, and the delivery of information security for the Scotiabank Group. With global oversight for the Bank's Identity Access Management services and program, this MD will be responsible for the enterprise-wide IAM program and ensuring the Bank meets its obligations under various regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities
  1. Design, implement, and operate Identity and Access Management (IAM) services across the global organization to ensure the correct individuals, processes, and devices have access to the right resources with the right data at the right time.
  2. Design, implement, and operate controls including access control, custody of privileges, logging, access governance, reporting, and independent review to ensure only authorized access and modifications to data are performed according to Bank standards and legislative requirements.
  3. Design, implement, and operate customer protection technologies to provide a secure online customer experience across all global online channels.
  4. Design, implement, and operate the Machine Identity Management (MIM) process to manage digital credentials of devices accessing Scotia data.
  5. Design, implement, and operate the Process Identity Management (PIM) process to manage digital credentials of application processes on-premise and in the cloud.
  6. Ensure that the IAM strategy aligns with organizational standards, continuously monitor access management processes, document accurately, analyze user and service account needs, and implement new systems when necessary.
  7. Stay updated on best-in-class technologies, explore opportunities to simplify technology stacks and costs, and evaluate existing tools against alternatives.
  8. Participate in shaping the IS&C strategy, providing insights and input on major projects and initiatives.
  9. Maintain strong communication and positive relationships within the cyber/financial industry.
  10. Lead daily activities in accordance with the Bank’s risk culture and appetite, and communicate these throughout the team.
  11. Create an environment promoting effective operations aligned with Scotiabank’s values, code of conduct, and compliance requirements, including operational, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risks.
  12. Build a high-performance team, attract, develop, and motivate staff, foster inclusivity, and plan for succession and development.
Education / Experience
  • Experience leading global IAM programs in large organizations with dispersed geographies.
  • Expertise in third-party security solutions, systems architecture, operational models, security standards such as NIST and MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Proven leadership in managing large, enterprise-wide IAM teams.
  • Experience in complex organizations like banks, telecoms, healthcare, or retail is highly preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills are essential.
