Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in corporate communications or public relations.
  • Experience building teams or systems with a focus on transformation.
  • Senior in-house communications experience at a tech company preferred; agency experience acceptable.
  • Experience managing complex client engagements independently.
  • Familiarity with the technology ecosystem, especially mid- to late-stage startups.
  • Curiosity about AI and experience using AI tools in work.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Managing Director, Corporate Communications to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space. This leader will shape the strategic direction of the San Francisco communications team while serving as a trusted counselor to senior executives. The role will focus on building integrated communications programs, guiding clients through high-stakes transitions, and strengthening the organization’s presence in the Bay Area. It will also require close collaboration across client leadership, business development, and broader advisory teams to drive growth and deliver measurable communications impact.

Location: San Francisco, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $225,000 – $265,000 annually
