One of the country’s largest retail organizations is seeking a Communications Consultant to join their dynamic HR programs and internal communications team on a hybrid basis in San Francisco, CA. In this role, you’ll help shape the narrative across HR employee programs and company-wide initiatives, driving impact through creative storytelling and effective communications strategies. Your voice will help energize the workplace, fostering engagement and alignment while supporting critical all-employee moments.
This exciting opportunity starts as a 6-month W2 contract, offering competitive benefits, a hybrid schedule in downtown San Francisco (role is mostly remote but there will be occasional onsite), and the potential to extend or convert to permanent employment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders within Talent Management, Employee Experience, and Total Rewards to strategize, craft, and deliver communications supporting HR programs.
- Design and execute integrated campaigns for key HR events, including performance reviews, employee surveys, benefits, and open enrollment periods.
- Act as the bridge between corporate and field communications teams, optimizing timing and delivery for maximum impact across the workforce.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts, adjusting tactics and materials for continuous improvement.
- Provide direct support for senior leader communications, such as drafting messages, preparing talking points, and contributing to quarterly town hall events.
- Help coordinate major company-wide events and ensure alignment with internal messaging.
- Champion the organization’s values and purpose, infusing them throughout all employee-facing communications.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or a related field required.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in employee communications, preferably in a corporate or HR environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, with a knack for persuasive executive messaging.
- Organized and detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines within a cross-functional setting.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness; adept at prioritizing tasks and driving projects forward independently.
- Creative thinker with a talent for transforming ideas into actionable plans and engaging communications.
- Skilled in PowerPoint, Mailchimp, and data-driven reporting to illustrate communication effectiveness.
- Passion for people-focused work and comfort interacting with leadership.
