Job summary

Huntington Bancshares, Inc. seeks a Managing Director and Team Lead for ABL Sponsor & Capital Markets to drive strategy, develop sponsorship relationships, and lead a high‑performing BDO team in sourcing, structuring, and closing private equity‑owned asset‑based loans.

The role partners with internal credit, product, and syndication teams in Chicago, New York, Dallas, and Charlotte, delivering disciplined credit and best‑in‑class client experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 10+ years of asset-based lending, sponsor lending, finance, or capital markets experience.
• Deep understanding of private equity-backed transactions and syndication processes.
• Experience managing teams that negotiate complex ABL facilities and structures.
• Strong negotiation, documentation, and structuring skills.
• Excellent communication and executive-level presentation abilities.
• Proven ability to build long-term internal and external relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of BDOs responsible for sourcing and closing private equity‑owned ABL loans and participations.
• Oversee origination, sponsor coverage, arranger relationships, and deal sourcing.
• Guide credit approval processes and support documentation negotiation.
• Collaborate with internal partners across Sponsor Coverage, Capital Markets, Credit, and Portfolio teams.
• Ensure compliant and efficient deal execution and reporting.
