Hybrid in Houston with remote options for those outside Houston; strong negotiation, regulatory, and cross‑functional collaboration skills are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice law in at least one US state with 8+ years as a practicing attorney.
• Extensive experience in complex commercial transactions and large-scale project contracts.
• Demonstrated ability to provide senior-level legal advice and counsel to executive leadership.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to the Wind segment teams.
• Lead legal & compliance strategy and direction in conjunction with other internal counsels and the Wind segment Global Legal & Compliance team.
• Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with large‑scale projects, including negotiation, drafting, execution, interpretation, and review of complex agreements.
• Advise business on regulatory and compliance issues in the region.
• Support segment litigation, arbitration, mediation, and dispute resolution.
• Manage outside counsel and associated spend.
• Advise on a wide range of legal matters.
• Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with the business objectives of the Wind segment.
• Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams including finance, sales, sourcing, projects and operations.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, solution‑oriented thinking, and high ethical standards within the Wind segment.
• Manage multiple priorities simultaneously and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

GE Vernova seeks to recruit a Managing Counsel for our Wind segment. This role requires broad legal expertise with a background in large-scale project management, complex commercial transactions, and the ability to provide senior-level counsel and advisory. The preferred candidate will have significant experience in a multinational corporate environment, ideally within the energy, industrial, or EPC sectors. Exceptional judgment, business acumen, and effective navigation of a dynamic and complex industry are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to the Wind segment teams.
• Lead legal & compliance strategy and direction in conjunction with other internal counsels and the Wind segment Global Legal & Compliance team.

Preferred Qualifications

• General understanding of the Inflation Reduction Act, including prevailing wage, domestic content, and foreign entity of concern requirements.
• Hybrid in Houston and will consider remote for those outside of Houston.
