Qualifications

• Approximately 4 to 7 years of legal experience in-house or private practice.
• Strong commercial contracting and negotiation experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, renewables, construction or industrial sectors is highly desirable.
• Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including supply, procurement, vendor, contractor and construction related contracts
• Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risk, payment structures, compliance obligations and commercial strategy
• Support the negotiation and execution of customer agreements and strategic commercial transactions
• Assist with contract management, dispute resolution and claims handling
• Review NDAs, vendor agreements and corporate policies
• Coordinate with external counsel on specialist legal matters
• Support corporate governance activities and maintain key legal records

A rapidly growing renewable energy company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its legal team in Houston. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded attorney to work closely with executive leadership and play a key role in supporting a fast-growing business operating within the clean energy sector.

The successful candidate will provide day to day legal support across a broad range of commercial and transactional matters, partnering closely with senior leadership, sales, operations, procurement and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including supply, procurement, vendor, contractor and construction related contracts
• Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risk, payment structures, compliance obligations and commercial strategy
• Support the negotiation and execution of customer agreements and strategic commercial transactions

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in the United States
• Approximately 4 to 7 years of legal experience gained in-house or in private practice
• Strong commercial contracting and negotiation experience
• Experience advising businesses operating within manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, renewables, construction or industrial sectors is highly desirable
• Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
