Position Description

The Manager, US Fleet is a key individual contributor to the Corporate Fleet program within Strategic Sourcing & Procurement. The person in this position owns the procurement strategy and supplier relationships for the US fleet category. This is a category management role first, responsible for how the US fleet is sourced, contracted, and managed with suppliers over time, with a smaller operational component that keeps the day-to-day program running. As an individual contributor, the person in this role is accountable for the cost, service, and risk outcomes of the US fleet category and for the quality of the relationships with the suppliers and business partners who deliver it. The role acts as the procurement lead and primary point of contact for US stakeholders across Commercial, Operations, Safety, Finance, HR, and Insurance, and works closely with Legal, Risk, and Procurement colleagues on contracting and compliance.

  • Develop and maintain the US fleet category plan within the enterprise procurement strategy, including spend and market analysis, supply market and supplier landscape assessment, demand forecasting, and a clear view of savings, risk, and improvement opportunities. Refresh the plan on a regular cycle and track progress against it

  • Lead US sourcing events from planning through award, including requirements gathering, RFI and RFP development, bid analysis, negotiation, and the recommendation of award. Negotiate pricing, service levels, and commercial terms with suppliers such as the fleet management company, maintenance and repair providers, fuel card, telematics, and remarketing partners, and work with Legal and Procurement leadership on contract terms and approvals

  • Own supplier relationship management for the US fleet supplier base. • Manage the category through its contract lifecycle, including renewal planning, price and term reviews, variation management, and supplier transition or exit when needed. Manage the US vehicle lifecycle at the category level by setting vehicle specification and selection standards, evaluating lease versus buy and replacement strategies, and ensuring those choices are reflected in supplier agreements

  • Engage stakeholders across the business to understand needs, align on priorities, and communicate category strategy, results, and changes. Facilitate regular stakeholder forums and category reviews, influence policy and demand decisions, and bring recommendations and options to business and procurement leadership

This includes escalating and resolving service issues, supporting vehicle ordering and replacement, and working with Safety, HR, and Insurance on driver safety, compliance, and claims requirements, including DOT and FMCSA requirements where they apply. This is a smaller part of the role and focuses on making sure suppliers and policies are delivering what the business needs
