Job summary

Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Manager, Underwriting Assistants. The role leads a development program for associates, combining on-site teamwork with 2 days remote work each week.

You will oversee underwriters, ensure quality, and drive cross-functional initiatives to raise performance and outcomes. Responsibilities include resource allocation, process improvements, and mentoring to grow talent within the organization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work-related experience.
• 5 years middle market commercial lines underwriting experience with thorough underwriting workflow and tasks.
• 1 year leadership experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.
• Proven ability to build positive relationships within department and across the organization.
• Strong organizational skills in fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
• Ability to think strategically with analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity and efficiency.
• Design, implement, and oversee Associate Underwriting development program aligned with goals and quality standards.
• Evaluate team capabilities and project requirements to allocate resources and priorities.
• Establish and maintain quality standards for learning and development programs with regular assessments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align objectives and optimize resource sharing.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Establish and manage performance metrics and analyze data for insights.
• Communicate with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure alignment with priorities.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to prepare team members for future opportunities.
