Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a dynamic Nursing Manager to lead and empower our nursing team toward exceptional, patient-centered care. You will guide clinical operations, mentor Registered Nurses, and drive professional development and unit performance.

With accountability and clear communication, you will navigate staffing, training, and patient safety initiatives, ensuring high-quality care and continuous improvement across the unit.

Qualifications

• BSN or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
• One (1) year of leadership experience.
• Registered Nurse license in California (RN CA) at hire.
• BLS CPR certification at hire; ACLS and PALS within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Schedule nursing staff for shifts while considering utilization trends.
• Coordinate unit activities during shifts and direct the nursing staff.
• Assess and educate staff on patient care and institute emergency procedures as needed.
• Provide nursing care to patients as required.

Every day, you will lead and mentor Registered Nurses, oversee clinical operations, and advocate for patient and team needs, driving professional development and achieving unit goals.

To be successful in this role, you will embody accountability and confidence with superior communication skills for all interactions. You'll skillfully navigate challenges, ensuring individual performance and overall unit success.

• Schedules nursing staff to specific shifts, taking into account past utilization trends. Measures employee performance. Assists in the training of new staff members and the development of existing staff members.
• Coordinates the activities of the unit during a particular shift and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff.
• Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
• Provides nursing care to patients on an as needed basis.
