Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Registerd Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced emergency department. You will perform assessments, develop care plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Required ED experience and CA RN license, with certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP) to be completed within defined timelines. Training will be provided as needed to support operational needs.

Qualifications

• Associates Of Arts in Nursing required.
• 1 year of consecutive, recent ED experience (within last 5 years) or ICU experience.
• Will train when operational considerations allow.
• RN license: CA, upon hire.
• BLS CPR at hire.
• ACLS at hire.
• PALS within 6 months.
• TNCC within 6 months.
• NRP within 6 months.
• BSN upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine physical/ psychosocial assessment to collect basic data; follows the plan of care and guidelines.
• Forms a plan of care for individual needs and participates in planning routine transitional health care needs.
• Adapts educational content to patients and families during care delivery.
• Ensures efficiency in care delivery and makes independent clinical decisions.
• Follows unit safety regulations and guidelines.
• Advocates for patient rights and resolves conflicts as needed.

• Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data: follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines, utilizes pathways, which includes notifying physicians as appropriate
• Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including patient population needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options)
• Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care
• Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care to determine immediate priorities and to offer solutions for problems. Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience
• Follows unit specific safety regulations and guidelines
• Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict
