The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. From entry into the program, progression to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is a member of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will:

• Support overall store management and policy implementation
• Manage financials, including analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements
• Handle employee staffing, training, and development
• Manage inventory
• Lead customer service efforts

MITs must complete training, demonstrate progress, and learn about AutoZone's culture. Promotion to management depends on performance and availability of openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work full-time flexible hours, including weekends and overtime
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis skills are a plus but not mandatory
