The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to management positions within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.
An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will lead by example to maintain an engaged, productive team. Responsibilities include:
MITs will complete operations and management training, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through training are necessary to remain in the program and be considered for management openings.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on various factors such as performance and management openings.
