The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. From entry into the program, progression to management may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT maintains an engaged, productive team through leadership, initiative, and leading by example.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs also complete operations and management training, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through training are essential to remain in the program and be considered for management openings.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and available openings.
