The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare individuals for Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Progression to management typically occurs within 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.

Responsibilities

As a management team member, an MIT is expected to:

• Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance
• Support overall store operations including management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Manage financials, including analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements
• Handle employee staffing, training, and development
• Manage inventory and lead customer service efforts

MITs also complete operations and management training, learning about AutoZone's culture and key business aspects. Performance and progression through training are essential for continued consideration for management roles.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work flexible full-time hours, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Previous automotive experience and financial analysis skills are a plus but not mandatory
