The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. From entry into the program, progression to management typically occurs within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is a member of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will lead a store team through strong leadership and initiative. Responsibilities include:
MITs are also responsible for completing training in operations and management skills, and learning about AutoZone’s culture. Satisfactory performance and consistent progression are required to remain in the training pipeline and be considered for management roles.
