The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the AutoZone MIT program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is a member of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will:

• Support overall store management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Manage, analyze, and reconcile monthly P&L statements
• Handle employee staffing, training, and development
• Oversee inventory management
• Provide customer service leadership

MITs must complete operations and management skills training, learn about key business aspects, and demonstrate consistent progression to remain in the program and be considered for management openings. Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and availability.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work full-time with flexible hours, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis experience are preferred but not required
