The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to management promotion within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is a member of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will maintain an engaged, productive team through strong leadership and initiative. Responsibilities include:
MITs are responsible for completing training in operations and management, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Performance and progress are monitored to ensure continued eligibility for management openings.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and availability.
