The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to management within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
Responsibilities
An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will maintain an engaged, productive store team through leadership, initiative, and example setting.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs are responsible for completing operations and management training, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through training are essential to remain in the pipeline and be considered for management openings.
Note: Promotion to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and management openings.
