Position Overview

The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare candidates for Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. The program typically lasts 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

• Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance.
• Support the Store Manager in overall store operations, including management, supervision, and policy implementation.
• Manage financials, including analyzing and reconciling monthly P&L statements.
• Oversee employee staffing, training, and development.
• Manage inventory and lead customer service initiatives.

MITs will also complete training in operations and management skills, learning about AutoZone's culture and business practices. Progression to management roles depends on performance and available openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience.
• Full-time availability, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
• Automotive experience and financial analysis skills are a plus but not mandatory.
