Position Overview

The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Progression to a management role can occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

• Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance
• Support overall store operations including management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Manage financials, analyze and reconcile monthly P&L statements
• Handle employee staffing, training, and development
• Oversee inventory management
• Lead customer service initiatives

MITs are responsible for completing operations and management training, learning about AutoZone culture, and demonstrating consistent progress to remain in the pipeline for management openings. Promotion depends on performance and availability of positions.

Minimum Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work full-time with flexible hours, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Automotive experience and financial analysis skills are preferred but not required
