About This Role

Geronimo Power continues to grow at a rapid rate and is creating a dedicated Trading Operations & Settlements function to support the scale, complexity, and control requirements of its expanding energy trading platform. Reporting to the Controller, the Manager, Trading Operations & Settlements will help build this function within Accounting, improving current-state handoffs between Trading, Risk Management, Asset Management, Accounting, and Compliance while establishing disciplined processes, reliable settlement and billing workflows, and management-ready reporting.

This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can design scalable operating routines, strengthen controls, partner across commercial and finance teams, and bring structure to a growing trading environment. The Manager will serve as a key functional owner for settlement operations, billing and invoice validation, credit, and collateral processes, ETRM workflow readiness, environmental product activity, and reporting governance.

Responsibilities
  • Build and lead the Trading Operations & Settlement function within Accounting, creating the processes, controls, documentation, and reporting routines needed to support a growing trading desk.
  • Improve current-state handoffs between Trading, Risk Management, Asset Management, Accounting, and Compliance by defining clear workflows, ownership, escalation paths, and close timelines.
  • Lead shadow settlements, invoice validation, dispute management, billing support, and payment coordination to ensure trading activity is settled and allocated accurately for the month-end close.
  • Own the monthly true-up to daily P&L reported by Risk Management and ensure variances, exceptions, and adjustments are documented and escalated appropriately.
  • Partner with Accounting on accruals, cash forecasting, collateral calls, liquidity planning, audit support, and other financial reporting requirements related to trading activity.
  • Support counterparty credit and collateral management processes, including exposure tracking, collateral requirements, credit support documentation, margin/collateral call coordination, and escalation of material exposure or liquidity changes.
  • Manage REC registry and environmental product activities, including certificate transfers, retirements, reconciliations, inventory tracking, and related billing or settlement requirements.
  • Serve as a key business owner for ETRM workflows and future system enhancements, helping further automate billing and settlement activities, trade capture controls, credit and collateral workflows, environmental product tracking, and allocation of P&L.
  • Establish procedures, metrics, and governance routines for settlement operations, billing processes, exception management, internal controls, registry activity, and management reporting.
  • Prepare recurring management-ready reporting on settlement status, billing completeness, open disputes, exposure/collateral items, registry activity, close deadlines, and key operational risks.
  • Support internal control readiness, audit requests, documentation standards, and process improvement initiatives connected to trading activity and month-end close.
