Qualifications

About This Role

Geronimo Power's Development team originates, advances, and executes utility-scale energy and digital infrastructure projects across key U.S. markets. The Senior Developer is a senior individual contributor who independently advances a portfolio of early- to mid-stage projects and supports select late-stage projects across solar, wind, battery energy storage, powered data parks, natural gas, and other emerging technologies. The role evaluates market and site opportunities, leads greenfield development, coordinates cross-functional inputs, manages development budgets and schedules, and identifies and mitigates project risk.

This position does not have direct people-management responsibility. The Senior Developer provides informal leadership to cross-functional project teams and works with internal subject matter experts, external consultants, landowners, utilities, regulators, and community stakeholders. Success requires sound judgment, clear escalation of risk, and the ability to move projects forward with limited oversight while maintaining alignment with company priorities, budgets, schedules, stage-gate requirements, and development milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the budgets, schedules, risks, documentation, stage-gate requirements, and advancement ofapproximately 4-6early- to mid-stage projects across multiple technologies, while supportingapproximately 1-2late-stage projects as needed. Annual development budgets aregenerally expectedto range fromapproximately $2 millionto $7 million, depending on project type and stage.
  • Support market evaluation, project origination, greenfield development, mergers andacquisitionsdiligence, and partnership opportunities.
  • Evaluate project viability based on land, interconnection, permitting, stakeholder, market, economic, constructability, and strategic considerations.
  • Lead negotiations and execution of purchase options, lease options, easements, extensions, and related real estate agreements, balancing operational, financial, legal, and constructability considerations across the project lifecycle.
  • Build the greenfield development pipeline byidentifyingnew market opportunities, evaluating development constraints and commercial drivers, and creating practical pathways to project viability.
  • Represent Geronimo Power with landowners, local officials, utilities, regulators, transmission providers, and community stakeholders, andmaintainrelationships necessary to advance projects.
  • Coordinate with Transmission, Engineering, Construction, Permitting, Real Estate, Legal, Finance, Commercial, Strategy, Community Engagement, and Procurement teams; provide informal leadership by clarifying ownership, driving accountability, and advancing deliverables.
  • Identify, assess, manage, and escalation project risks, and recommend practical mitigation strategies and decision points.
  • Partner with internal technical teams on interconnection and transmission activities, including schedule, cost, design, project-readiness impacts, and preparation of applicable interconnection materials.
  • Partner with Engineering and Construction on site layouts, design assumptions, constructability, equipment needs, cost-effective development strategies, andaccurateidentification of project constraints.
  • Work with the Permitting team to coordinate federal, state, and local permitting and approval processes for generation and load projects.
  • Prepare project updates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, investment materials, and leadership reporting that clearly communicate status, decisions, risks, and required actions.
  • Manage external consultants and contractors to ensuretimely,accurate, and fit-for-purpose deliverables.
  • Lead or support negotiation and execution of development agreements, service agreements, real estate documents, local agreements, and other project contracts.
  • Travel approximately 40% of the time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, environmental policy or science, ora relatedfield, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in renewable energy project development ora relatedfield such as energy, real estate, infrastructure, commercial development, land development, or project management.
  • Strong understanding of utility-scale project development processes and working knowledge of energy markets, project economics, interconnection, permitting, land acquisition, stakeholder engagement, and project execution.
  • Experience managing landowner relationships, community engagement, and external stakeholder communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently managedevelopmentworkstreams, deadlines, budgets, cross-functional dependencies, and competing priorities.
  • Ability toidentifyproject risks, develop mitigation strategies, make recommendations, and escalated matters using sound judgment.
  • Experience coordinating with finance, commercial, real estate, legal, permitting, engineering, construction, transmission, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare clear project updates and executive materials.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset anddemonstratedability toidentifygreenfield opportunities, navigate ambiguity, and advance new concepts from idea toan actionabledevelopment path.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, accountability, and ability to work independently whileremainingaligned with team and company priorities.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Experience

  • Development experience with utility-scale solar, wind, battery energy storage, powered data parks or data centers, or natural gas projects.
  • Familiarity with regional transmission organizations or independent system operators, especially MISO.
  • Experience with project origination, market screening, land acquisition, interconnection applications, or M&A diligence.
  • Exposure toproject finance, projectsaleprocesses, commercial structuring, or investment approvals.
  • Experience presenting to senior leaders, public officials, community groups, landowners, or other external stakeholders.
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experiencewith Procore or comparableproject-managementsystems is a plus.

  • Land, interconnection, permitting, and community workstreams remain coordinated so that projects are positioned for successful transition to later-stage development and execution.

Pay Range for the posted level: $142,000 – $178,000 plus target annual bonus opportunity of 15%. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and demonstrated market-relevantexpertise
