Job summary

IFG US is seeking a Manager for its Technical Accounting team in Downtown Chicago. The role focuses on advanced accounting research, US GAAP, SEC disclosures, and coordinating with Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Finance to resolve complex matters.

The ideal candidate has a CPA with at least 6 years of accounting experience and will mentor staff while advancing professional development in a fast-growing hospitality-focused environment.

• Prepare and review disclosures for 10-Q and 10-K; support Audit Committee meetings.

• Location: Downtown Chicago
• Work Schedule: Hybrid | In-office 3 days/week (flexibility on which days)
• Compensation: $98K - $135K base salary

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced accounting research, primarily under U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, and prepare or review technical accounting memos to substantiate conclusions
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Finance, and other key stakeholders to analyze and report on complex accounting matters
• Review quarterly and annual impairment and CECL analyses
• Oversee quarterly fair value assessments and determine required updates
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual disclosures for 10-Q and 10-K filings, consolidating relevant information for efficiency and accuracy
• Manage disclosure checklists to ensure full compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Develop materials for Audit Committee meetings to support effective communication with the Board of Directors
• Evaluate new or amended contracts and provide clear guidance on accounting implications
• Monitor new accounting pronouncements, assess applicability, and lead implementation efforts as needed
• Coach, supervise, and mentor senior accountants, fostering professional growth and collaboration

Qualifications (Required)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in accounting or public accounting

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Technical accounting experience in a corporate or public company environment
• SEC and financial reporting experience
• Experience with financial ERP/reporting systems (Hyperion preferred)
