The Manager of Supply Chain Planning (also known as Planning Manager or PM) is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the successful execution of a division operating plan for a Harbor Freight Tools Main Distribution Center (MDC). The PM owns all tools and processes related to multi shift and multi-site planning across various horizons (daily, monthly, quarterly, annually). The PM will ensure the operating plan is fully calibrated based on forecasts and DC labor capability. The PM maintains the operating plan, and prepares all requisite outputs for SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning). With strategic guidance and partnership from the Sr. Manager of Operations Planning, the PM coordinates with MDC Senior leadership (OMs, AGMs, and GMs) to secure buy in to the operating plan, submits staffing requests to Talent Acquisition, and prepares business cases for equipment need based on volume movements or the introduction of new processes to the operating model.
The PM disseminates their operating plan via a team of Shift Planning Managers (SPMs) and their staff. The PM provides direct support to their SPMs and ensures they are able to provide real time representation to the operations team on their respective shift. The PM must be able to move between shifts as needed to support all of the managers on their team and must be able to drive continuous improvement initiatives across all their shifts.
