Job summary

Boyd CAT is seeking a Store Manager in Kentucky to lead day-to-day operations, support store sales, and manage a diverse team. You will drive profitability, oversee inventory, and ensure excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates have supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travels to stores, branches, and other locations as required.
• Develops and presents information to management, employees, and customers.
• Leads store operations to achieve profit objectives and quality service.
• Supports sales reps to grow market share and opportunities.
• Develops marketing, sales, and financial plans for the store.
• Manages inventory to maintain optimal stocking levels.
• Oversees facility, machinery, tools, and vehicle maintenance.
• Hires, trains, and supervises staff; sets goals and coaches.
• Evaluates performance and prepares job descriptions and appraisals.
• Projects a positive image and adheres to dress code.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Store Manager directs and oversees all operations of a store location including, but not limited to the following: equipment and product support activities, fleet maintenance and repairs, assists in directing district sales representatives to achieve sales, market share, and profit objectives, directs product support operations to achieve maximum customer satisfaction levels, lowest cost of operation, maximum warranty reimbursement, and parts and profit objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Management/Supervisor experience required
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience
• Willingness to learn, be trained, and coach
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills
• Able to communicate with team members and customers
• Good working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, word processing programs
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Travels to stores, branches, and other locations as required to perform assigned duties
• Maintain a valid motor vehicles operators’ license
• Develop and present information to management, employees, and customers to inform, persuade, or promote store and other building construction product programs, processes, and cost management
• Provide direction and leadership to ensure quality, cost effective, timely support of store operations, while attaining profit objectives
• Assist and participate with Sales Representatives in overall sales and marketing activities of the store and involve all personnel on creating sales opportunities and increased market share
• Develop and execute marketing, sales, and financial plans
• Provide input for inventory to achieve profit objectives while maintaining best stocking levels & availability of parts
• Manage maintenance of facility, machinery, tools, & vehicles to maintain an efficient & clean operation
• Develop product support opportunity in the local market within the capabilities of the staff and direct product support "work in process" to achieve proper and prompt repairs
• Supervise all Parts and Service activities in support of the successful merchandising of all products and services offered, including Earthmoving, Power Systems, Rental Services and AG
• Hire, train, and supervise staff
• Work with employees to set aggressive professional and achievable goals to enhance the employees performance
• Use coaching techniques to recognize employees accomplishments & strengths and to improve any other areas
• Evaluate employee performance on a regular basis and prepare the related Position Descriptions, Performance Appraisals, and salary administration
• Project a positive image by interacting with fellow employees, management, customers, and the community in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; display a professional attitude; comply with company dress code
• Perform other duties as necessary and assigned
