The Advisor Services Technology (AST) organization leads the development and support of Schwab's technology platforms for Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs). We serve the needs of advisors across all their technological needs. We are seeing a talented Manager (People leader), who embraces
being a technical leader and has a real passion for cultivating teams to build compelling integration applications using state-of-the-art technologies. This senior manager will lead multiple teams responsible for 24/7 Operations and Mainframe Systems.

As a Manager (PL), you will demonstrate a combination of strong technical expertise and leadership, coupled with program management, technical, and relationship management skills in support of the team’s objectives. This Manager will have a broad range of responsibilities including technical
leadership, engineering staff management, product owner relationship management, scrum oversight, operations support, and delivery leadership as the representative of a technical domain that is utilized by a variety of application consumers.

This role involves running a Database and Mainframe Operations (SaVE) team which will require 24/7 support. As a people manager, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of talented engineers in delivering and supporting critical, highly available solutions. You will leverage your strong team leadership skills and the ability to hire, guide, and grow exceptional technology teams. You will manage multiple scrum teams comprised of FTEs as well as onshore and offshore vendor staff. You are a visible leader that thrives on developing and motivating future technology leaders.
You will also build and maintain strong partnerships with product and other technology teams. You’ll exercise your expertise with enterprise IT operations practices, high availability systems, and people leadership to deliver leading edge technologies. The individual will manage a team of database/mainframe engineers and ensure solutions are designed and implemented in a manner which meets all business requirements as well as maintains alignment of database engineering and quality standards.

What you have

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years as a manager or project management lead
• 8+ years’ experience running large/complex IT projects with multiple internal / external dependencies
• Deep understanding of Advisor Services business and datasets to service operational/development activities.
• Demonstrated success in the ability to hire, lead, coach and grow exceptional technology teams
• Demonstrated ability to define, drive and communicate strategy and vision and influence across the organization is essential
• Develop and maintain strong SOPs for operational excellence, ensuring clear, timely and effective communications of incidents
• Deep understanding of STS practices and Change Release process.
• Designs advanced support processes and mentors peers to optimize functionality and security
• Establishes robust processes to create, secure, and monitor data pipelines and stores
• Designs efficient processes to resolve incidents and minimize downtime
• Develops QA processes that confirm compliance and ensure operational reliability
• Streamlines requirement analysis and validation for enhanced efficiency
• Designs security processes to enhance security and regulatory compliance
• Enhances processes that merge predictive and adaptive software design techniques
• Designs efficient processes that ensure quality and resolve issues in software components
• Optimizes processes for secure, compliant, and reliable software releases
• Optimizes design processes by integrating predictive or adaptive methods with cloud principles
