Job summary

Vail Resorts in South Lake Tahoe is seeking a Snowmaking leader to oversee all aspects of the snowmaking department during the winter season and beyond. The role requires supervising staff, managing budgets, and coordinating with engineering and maintenance to ensure reliable snow production.

Starting wage ranges from $70,304 to $84,757 with potential annual bonus; 21+ years old, valid license, and English proficiency required.

Qualifications

  • Some college or technical training required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • 3–5 years supervisory experience required; snowmaking operations experience preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the Snowmaking department for the location such as performance, compliance, staffing, budgets, training, and development.
  • Review engineering and design plans, snow making operations, and maintenance programs.
  • Manage construction, installation and improvement projects relating to the snowmaking operation.
  • Review records of operational and safety performance making suggestions for improvementMaintain adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with other management, departments, and third-party organizations throughout the course of work.
  • Participate in leadership forums providing feedback and input on snowmaking operations, training, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The expected pay range is$70,304.00-$84,757.00+anual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
