Job summary

MTM Transit is hiring a Marking and Tethering Evaluator to conduct ADA assessments for applicants with mobility devices and to provide comprehensive briefings on securement and boarding. The role supports safety by identifying securement points, documenting measurements, and maintaining records in Salesforce and Rider360.

Responsibilities include daily assessments, briefings, data entry, and collaboration with leadership to meet contractual deadlines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience and knowledge of ADA regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to assist customers with limited mobility (lifting, pushing, pulling).
  • Ability to assist with boarding/alighting mock buses.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Marking and Tethering certification preferred.
  • Experience conducting interviews/assessments and Salesforce is a plus.

  • Stay current on ADA regulations and transport guidelines.
  • Maintain monthly marking data and daily tether inventory; report discrepancies.

What Will Your Job Look Like?

The Marking and Tethering Evaluator is responsible for conducting mark and tethering ADA assessments, transit orientations and safety briefings for all applicants that have mobility devices, and agree to the service. The Marking and Tethering Evaluator will provide a briefing on the process of boarding and riding a vehicle while using a mobility device, as well as an explanation for the marking and tethering assessment. The Marking and Tethering Evaluator will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of applicants by correctly identifying the safest securement point and providing markings and/or tethers on the mobility device.

What You’ll Do:
  • Conduct Mark and Tethering 4- point securement assessment of wheelchairs, power chairs and scooters on a daily basis
  • Monitor the daily appointment schedule and provide briefings regarding the Mark and Tethering service to each applicant with a device
  • Investigate case recalls and provide a resolution to the Client
  • Respond to the Client and site Leadership regarding inquiries sent via email within the specified timeframe
  • Meet contractual deadlines and accurately complete Mark and Tethering assessments which includes taking four photos of each mobility device, measures and weights device and recording all information in the system within 48 hours
  • Identify the best and safest securement point for all mobility devices
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of ADA transportation and government regulations pertaining to occupant securement
  • Review and investigate any device recalls and update regarding Mark and Tethering assessments per ADA guidelines
  • Maintain monthly statistical data of marking
  • Track tether inventory on a daily basis and report discrepancies, spoilage, shortages, and overages to Leadership and the Client
  • Facilitate quarterly hands-on training for MTM employees
  • Actively participate in community outreach events to perform Mark and Tethering assessments and provide information
  • Participate in initial and ongoing training as required by MTM and Client
  • Input information into Salesforce and Rider360 software as needed
  • Assist with other internal projects and tasks as needed
What You’ll need:
  • High diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 year of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Experience and knowledge with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to safely assist (lifting, pushing, and pulling) customers with limited mobility who may use mobility aids including but not limited to: cane, walker, manual or power wheelchair, or power scooters
  • Ability and willingness to assist customers with boarding and/or alighting mock buses
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to tactfully question and obtain information
  • Ability to work independently and as a partner or team member with a variety of individuals
  • Even better if you have... Some college
