Qualifications

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor degrees in healthcare administration, finance or related field (as applicable).
  • Experience: 3–5 years in revenue cycle management and 2–3 years in supervisory/leadership roles.
  • Experience in healthcare finance and financial analysis is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Revenue Cycle Financial Management teams and vendor/tech operations.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting for revenue cycle, patient billing, collections, and reimbursement.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analyses to identify revenue opportunities and cost reductions.
  • Prepare and present variance analyses, forecasts, and profitability reports to senior leadership.

Job Summary
  • Responsible for the efficient, effective oversight of Revenue Cycle Financial Management activities and teams. The role works to develop unified Vendor & Technology Operations and Budget strategies to be implemented across the Enterprise Revenue Cycle organization. The position will also provide leadership to Mass General Brigham's Contract Management function, including oversight of master file/lookup table maintenance, work queue maintenance, and maintenance of related Revenue Cycle vendor applications. This position will develop, coordinate, and receive leadership approval of the integrated Hospital & Professional Billing Revenue Cycle team budget and monitor/promote responsible, cost-effective operations and budget management across teams.

Essential Functions
  • Implements the strategic direction for Rev. Cycle Financial Management and collaborates with direct reports to drive alignment.
  • Manages day-to-day practice of Revenue Cycle Financial Management teams, including identifying and monitoring team success metrics and activities related to Vendor & Tech. Operations and Budget.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis of revenue cycle processes to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost reduction.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis, revenue forecasts, and profitability assessments, to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for revenue cycle operations, including patient billing, collections, and reimbursement.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to develop accurate revenue projections, expense budgets, and financial plans.
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy to reduce the cost and complexity of the vendor network through standardization / enhanced technology.
  • Manage and mentor a team of financial analysts, revenue cycle specialists, and support staff, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development.
  • Identifies and solves technical and operational problems; understands and recognizes broader impact across the department.
Qualifications

Education
Associate's Degree Healthcare Administration required or Associate's Degree Finance required or Associate's Degree Related Field of Study required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Experience in revenue cycle management, financial analysis, or healthcare finance 3-5 years required and Experience in a supervisory or leadership role 2-3 years required

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
  • Familiarity with revenue cycle management systems and technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a focus on continuous process improvement.
